The draft of National Strategy for Dog Population Management in Serbia
The European Union project "Reinforcement the animal health and welfare" is a technical support to the Veterinary Directorate in harmonizing domestic legislation with the EU and international standards in the field of animal health and welfare and biosecurity measures.
One of the activities of the project is the preparation of the draft of National Strategy and Action Plan for Dog Population Management on the territory of the Republic of Serbia, as well as the preparation of materials to raise awareness about the problem of abandoned dogs.
In order to prepare the highest quality documents that will be aimed at solving current problems of all stakeholders and ensuring their cooperation in this complex socio-economic problem, a public debate is planned to be held in Belgrade in late July, about which the public and stakeholders will be informed.
In order to ensure a high-quality discussion and allow all the stakeholders to prepare for it, the draft of the National Strategy for Dog Population Management on the territory of the Republic of Serbia, as well as the draft of the Action Plan for the implementation of the national strategy are available at these links:
